I'm FEATURED on HAIRLISTA!

 Hey ladies!

I woke up to an email saying that my 2 year comparison picture would be featured on Hairlista.

How exciting! I haven't even been a member a month yet (joined on May 29th 2012) and my lil ole hair is FEATURED!

It's really encouraging to me because lately I've been getting really discouraged and impatient with my hair. It just seems to be at a "stand still" right now. No real breakage, but no real growth either.

In fact, my hair growth over the span of two years in MY opinion has been normal to lackluster compared to  some of the ladies who give me inspiration.

When I posted my picture of HairLista and Instagram the comments seriously surprised me!

"You have good hair, you don't count."

"Nobody's hair grows like that in two years unless they're white or mixed"

"You're a special case"

And yes, I do believe my genetics play some role in my hair... and I am a boiling pot of races down the lane, but as you can see... I am BLACK.

And in my opinion my hair isn't "better" than anyone's.

Different maybe, but not better.

Anyone can do it. You just have to find the right combo that works right for YOUR hair.

So what's the number 1 tip I could say has worked CONSISTENTLY for my hair over the last 2 years?

The only thing that I have done CONSISTENTLY... was not products, not oils, not any special growth aids... just simply...

KEEPING MY HAIR CLEAN!!

I can argue with women all day long who believe the myths that "dirty hair grows better"... but I look at the proof!

For 2 years I have NEVER gone longer than 7 days washing my hair.

Even when I had a sew-in... I washed my hair every 7 days.

I pre-poo'd before I knew what a pre-poo was.

I've oiled by scalp with COUNTLESS oils.

But the one thing that hasn't changed is that I kept my hair CLEAN.

So please don't believe the myths.

A clean scalp is a happy scalp :)
